Champions!
A huge component of this plan is activity and we must participate in some sort of physical activity to take full advantage. If you are a member of a gym, great! If you aren’t a member of a gym, great! It really doesn’t matter too much. It is great weather for the folks on the West coast to do things outside, and great gym/yoga weather for those of us who are in more frigid climates.
20 min in the morn and 20 min at night. This is the absolute bare minimum for physical activity. If you aren’t a member of a gym, just take off first thing in the am for a 20 minute jog, or walk, or 20 min of lunges, or jumping jacks, or jump rope, or whatever you can possibly imagine that will elevate your heart rate. And whatever you do in the am, do NOT do at night. Switch it up. If you walk in the am, jump rope at night. If you are going to do the whole 40 minutes in one sitting, switch up your activity, for example 20 min cardio, and 20 min weight lifting. If you are a member of a gym, I suggest that you take a yoga or fitness class. SWITCH IT UP PEOPLE. One of the reasons we are in the condition that we are in is because of boredom. If you have ever seen someone doing a physical activity and had an interest in what they are doing, then now is the time for you to do it too!!!
“But Rip gym memberships are expensive and i can’t really afford it”
-Guess what, for the first 2 weeks of this program you will be able to participate at almost any establishment that you want. For the most part, any yoga studio, dance studio, gym or boot camp center will give “potential members” 1-2 weeks for free. All you have to do is give them an email address and start taking classes. And if they only offer a 1 week program, sign up at another establishment after your first week is up…trust me there are tons of these places around (i worked out for over 6 weeks at hot yoga studios by taking the 1-2 week trial period, for FREE and so can you) And if you find a system that you really love, consider signing up for a membership if you can afford it.
Suggestion: Involve yourself in a consistent physical activity for at least 1 month before signing up for a membership. Don’t waste a bunch of money on a membership that you will only use for a few weeks, instead hike a mountain, take a walk, ride a bike, join an outdoor yoga class….these are all free.
The more you put into this program the more you will get out, its as simple as that. For a minimum requirement we are setting the physical portion at 40 minutes, but if you can find more time to devote to yourself, please do. Pay respect to your bodies. Honor yourself for the work you do on a daily basis. Take this time to focus on you and only you. And if you can extend your 40 minutes to an hour or more, great! If you can’t because of responsibilities, thats fine too, but use ever minute of that 40 minutes to work on you.
Any awesome suggestions for physical activity please POST!!!!
Heres a great one. Nike Training Club. Its an app for iPhones and also a website. The workouts on this site/app say that they are designed for Women….i disagree. These workouts are freaking intense and amazing ways to get a good routine in…for FREE. I do these at a park by my house, so can you! And the best part about them is they constantly change. You have no excuses for being bored…now get to work!!!
Heres a little video for your motivation…
